The Child Safe Foundational workshop is designed to act as a child protection refresher to assist with NQS compliance for those who have completed the CHCPRT001 course.  The workshop addresses NSW reporting requirements.  However the remainder of the workshop is applicable for all states and territories.  Participants will be assisted to understand their reporting obligations within the current legislative context, including mandatory, reportable conduct, & duty of care.  The workshop covers various types of child abuse and neglect, including identifying signs and indicators of child abuse and neglect, and understanding the dynamics of sexual offending and grooming.  A unique feature of this training program is that we video acting of a real workplace situation.  The popular and highly engaging feature of this training program gives participants the opportunity to problem solve a real scenario. Participants get the chance to practice what they’ve learnt, helping them to feel confident to manage any future child abuse issues they will face in their own workplace, and prevent child abuse in the workplace.

The Child Safe Foundational program meets the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) course requirements for Elective PD through: improving student/child safety outcomes through staff training in child protection; teaching practice is enhanced by creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment to improve student motivation, collaboration and achievement; development after extensive research with experts around the world and evidence-based practice; and promotes opportunities for self-reflection, and giving and receiving feedback.

The Building-Block Approach

Right Approach adopts a building-block approach that exposes participants to a series of workshops to apply child safety and wellbeing, or simply attend a one-off workshop.  Providing a number of different training options enables time and budget flexibility.
