Child Protection Refresher

  /    /  Child Protection Refresher

During this workshop participants will discover the most up to date information in their sector in relation to child protection legislation, including:  mandatory reporting, reportable conduct, criminal and duty of care obligations for staff and volunteers to take reasonable precautions to prevent abuse.  We also take a look at best practice to prevent abuse – the Child Safe Standards.  Using Right Approach’s 5R Model to Respond to Child Harm the workshop covers signs and indicators of child abuse and neglect, the dynamics of sexual offending and grooming, responding to an child abuse issue, best practice in reporting writing, and how abuse could have been prevented.

Early Childhood Educators. The Child Protection Refresher workshop is designed to act as a child protection refresher to assist with compliance with the National Quality Standards for educators who have completed the CHCPRT001 or CHCPRT025 course.  The workshop covers the existence and application of NSW law and reporting obligations.  However the remainder of the workshop is applicable for all states and territories.

A unique feature of this training is that we record live acting of leaders and staff re-enacting a child abuse concern in the workplace.  Participants are encouraged to witness and workshop the scenario and discuss their legal responsibilities, their reporting obligations, an effective response, and discuss how they can prevent abuse.  This highly popular and interactive aspect of our training allows staff to witness and discuss a real time child abuse scenario,  the opportunity to practice what they have learned, and helps workers to be prepared to manage any future child abuse concerns they face in their own workplaces.

Amazing!!  Many thanks for the very best child protection refresher training.
